The process of making the bowl


Before starting to make a bowl, preparing main materials : Circle template, Radius gauge and Aluminium plate. 

                          

Firstly, put the Circle template, largest one as 230mm diameter, then draw to outer line of the circle with black marker. After that, draw to inner line of the circle as well. Repeat the way, using rest of the circles(180mm, 130mm and 80mm). Then, using the Hand Lever Shear tool carefully to cut outer circumference of the largest circle.

- Shrinking and Stretching

After that, place the aluminium plate onto a wooden mould(or sandbag), matching aluminium's outer circle(230mm) with circle line on a wooden mould, and strike it along 180mm circle line with radius nylon mallet in order to make shape of bowl. when it is done, repeat same way with the rest of two lines.

- Planishing

once you got the same radius in all part of the bowl, which u want, using the English wheel which help surface of bowl to be smooth. Try to make it have regular patterns.
